CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After undergoing complete multi-million dollar renovations in 2014, Le Méridien Charlotte, 555 S. McDowell Street, home to 65,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, challenges the notion of a typical break menu with cutting edge themes like An Englishman’s Breakfast and The Charlotte Mint.

These engaging break options are designed to stimulate thinking and curiosity, promote dialogue and leave meeting goers feeling emotionally involved, perfect for productive collaboration. Focused on interactive elements and social interaction, the nine options encourage discovery.

The new options are sure to lift meeting attendees out of their dreary rut and into a new age of fresh culinary excellence, while also uncovering what Charlotte locally has to offer with hyperlocal edge and unique sensory experiences that go beyond just food and beverage.

With an abundance of local items readily available, and the healthy lifestyle choices of Charlotteans, Healthy Harvest looks to cater to a growing population of the health-conscious eater with steel cut Irish oatmeal, vanilla yogurt, egg white and spinach biscuits and whole wheat pancakes with blueberry chutney

Guests can briefly return to simpler times with My Southern Morning, which features tasteful cuisine, typical in the South, with jams and preserves, carrot and pecan muffins, chicken and waffles, sweet potato and ham hash, and fresh cut fruit, to be enjoyed in laidback rocking chairs.

Guests will feel as if they have snuck back into the lives of those who lived in southern states long ago, sitting on the porch and taking it slow.

Inspired by Charlotte’s nickname, the Queen City in honor of the Queen of Great Britain in 1761, An Englishman’s Breakfast features soft scrambled eggs, flaked salmon salad, scallion and potato hash, Applewood smoked thick bacon and turkey sausage with an assortment of cheeses. This breakfast is a full tribute to England with flags, Queens and a tabletop phone booth holding breakfast items in its iconic doors.

Bringing to life the foods indigenous to the Piedmont region, Farmhouse features local honey and preserves, toasted assorted nuts, dried fruit, fresh berries, and house-made granola with decorative mason jars, crates, and chalkboard to give it the southern country feel, while Piedmont’s Row makes guests feel as if they are sitting on a front porch, relaxing the day away with three types of iced tea, lemonade, and house-made tarts.

The Piedmont’s Row attendant dresses in crisp white in true southern fashion and can speak to the different syrup flavors and bitters made in house for the iced tea, while classic music from Neil Young and Otis Redding complete the experience.

Trading Post and The Charlotte Mint celebrate Charlotte’s history. Trading Post represents the past and present of the city and the southern region of the United States with moon pies, lance crackers and Krispy Kreme donuts with cheerwine. As homage to the Mint Museum Uptown, The Charlotte Mint encourages guests to have a creative mind by building one’s own éclair. The do-it-yourself aspect of this option gets guests involved interactively, while coffee scents fill the room and the sounds of French Bossa Nova band Nouvelle Vague dance in the atmosphere.

The sights of local artistry gives the finishing touch to this French-inspired theme, meant to leave guests immersed in the world of art and culture in Charlotte. 

Fast Track Moonshine Bar’s moonshine sangria won’t let anyone forget about moonshine tradition with origins in bootlegging during the prohibition while Queen’s Crafts highlights craft beers from three Queen City breweries- Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, Noda and Triple C. The full moonshine experience includes a video that brings guests into the history of moonshine and a knowledgeable attendant in 1920s prohibition-era garb to explain the different moonshine flavors.
